ABOUT THE CHILDREN HOSPITAL
The Concept of the Children Hospital & the institute of Child Health, Lahore was presented in the annual meeting of Pakistan Pediatric Association in 1984, foundation stone was laid down in 1990, OPD Block was operationalized in May, 1995 and emergency services were started in October, 1996. The Pakistan Pediatric Association conceived the idea of The Institute of Child Health/Pediatric Hospital in 1984.Prof. Dr Saeed-Ul-Haq was the founder project director who worked tirelessly to acquire land, get approval from ACNEC and got the project approved. The important milestones are:
- May 1995 Out-patients
- October 1996 Emergency Services
- December 1998 In-patient Services (On make-shift basis with 250 beds)
- March 2017 Completion of Indoor block including theatres (addition of 680 beds)
